Evidence of Varahamihira

Varahamihira is a well known scientist. He got Planetarium and Machine which had autonomous movement by the emperor in Ujjain. He wrote many works.

आसन् मघासु मुनयः शासति पृथिवीं युधिष्ठिरे नृपतौ।

षट्द्विकपञ्चद्वियुतः शककालस्तस्य राज्ञश्च॥

The seven sages (Rushis) were at the maghastar. If we add 2526 years to the time of Sakaraja, we get the correct time of emperor Yudhishthira as mentioned by VarahaMihira (13). The Saka (Era) of sakaraja named sairas was in vogue. Dr.E. Vedavyasa wrote in his thesis that Varahamihira had mentioned that we get the ruling Period of B.C 3076 if we add 550 B.C to the time of Yudhishthira is 2526.
